The maps available online are quite extensive. From flash type maps that show where items, monsters, and areas are, to basic hand drawn maps. You should search and utilize the maps you find useful to you. Some of them might have information wrong, or show things that aren’t in the area you are currently in. These won’t help you until you need them later. Always keep good track of what maps you have, and know how to read them. Being able to glance at a World of Warcraft map, and know it versus stopping and intensely studying the map can mean life or death to you and your character. So, take the time to learn the maps ahead of time. This will make you proficient with it while you are playing your game.
